The QUM-80 ride-on power trowel is supplied to Ahmedabad flooring contractors finishing large concrete areas where a walk behind machine can no longer keep up with the pour. Twin rotors carry eight blades across a 1900 x 915 mm working width, driven by a Honda GX690 24 HP engine at 120 to 140 rpm.
It weighs 310 kg and carries 12 litres of fuel, which covers a long pour without stopping to refuel at the wrong moment.
Below roughly 500 square metres a walk behind trowel is the sensible machine. Above that the QUM-80 covers ground several times faster, and because the operator sits in one position the overlap stays even. That evenness is the real argument — walk behind work on a large floor leaves banding, and on any Ahmedabad slab written to a flatness specification, banding is what the specification finds.
Supplied with combination blades and two pans in 3 mm manganese steel. Pans float the slab, blades finish it, and you will use both on the same pour. We hold blades and pans in Delhi so a Ahmedabad floor programme does not stop for a worn set.
Going on too early brings water and fines to the surface and the floor dusts for years afterwards; too late and the blades will not cut. Our commissioning through Bakrol covers reading the slab, not only driving the machine.
