The TBM-42 is a bar bending machine made in India by Topall Impex for 6 to 32 mm TMT bar. It uses a 5 HP motor from Crompton, Havells or Bharat Bijli — 1450 rpm on 415 V — driving a planetary reduction gearbox, weighs 315 kg and measures 800 × 685 × 838 mm. It is the value option in our bending range: the same 32 mm ceiling as the imported GW42J, built here, with a motor that any local rewinder can service.
It is bought by contractors who want a proper electric bender at the lowest sensible price, and by yards that have had enough of waiting for imported motor spares. The planetary gearbox is the reason it works at this price: it puts the torque of a much larger motor onto the turntable without the size or cost of one.

Both bend up to 32 mm and both run on 415 V three-phase. The GW42J is imported, with a 3 kW motor at 320 kg; the TBM-42 is Indian, with a 5 HP motor and a planetary gearbox at 315 kg. From the TBM-42's side the case is cost and serviceability: an Indian-brand motor is repairable in any town in the country, and the machine is priced below the import. Buyers who specifically want an imported build choose the GW42J; buyers who want the most bending per rupee choose this one.
For 40 mm bar the GW52J is the only option.
The motor is a standard Indian 5 HP, 1450 rpm unit on 415 V, which is deliberate: it can be replaced or rewound anywhere. The planetary gearbox multiplies that into the slow, high-torque turntable rotation a 32 mm bend needs. Keep the gearbox oil topped up and the machine will bend 32 mm bar for years.
The rated range is 6 to 32 mm, so the same machine bends slab bars, distribution bars and column bars. Change pins to suit the diameter; bending 8 mm around a 32 mm pin gives the wrong radius and bending 32 mm around a small pin damages the pin.
Delivery, commissioning at site and operator handover. Because the machine is made here, spares — pins, gearbox parts, contactors, motor — are all held in Delhi and none of them wait on an import.
