On any RCC job, stirrups are the volume item. Columns and beams need them by the thousand — bent to drawing, identical, on schedule — and however fast your fitters are, hand-bent rings are where bar yards fall behind. A stirrup bending machine exists to remove exactly that bottleneck. The same machine goes by several names in the Indian market — stirrup making machine, ring making machine, rebar stirrup bender — and it comes in two very different classes: manual benders that help a man bend one ring at a time, and CNC automatic machines that turn coil steel into finished stirrups with nobody touching the bar. This page covers both, with real capacities and real prices.
Manual stirrup bending: where it stops making sense
A manual bender with a stop plate will produce a few hundred stirrups a day with a practised crew, and for a single small building that can be enough. The problems arrive with volume. Angles drift as the crew tires, ring sizes wander, and inspection rejects start an argument nobody wins. Above roughly 500 bends a day the hand-bent stirrup is not the cheap option any more — it only looks cheap because steel wastage and rework never appear on the same page as wages. Our guide to bar bender: hand tool vs machine walks through that break-even honestly.
Automatic stirrup bending machine: what you actually get
A CNC automatic stirrup bending machine takes steel from the coil, straightens it, bends every angle of the stirrup to a programmed drawing, and cuts it to length — finished stirrups come out at up to 2,400 pieces per hour with one operator. Shapes are selected from the schedule, not built by eye: squares, rectangles, rings and ties repeat identically, with length held to ±1 mm. On a machine bending drawing-programmed shapes, the two silent costs of hand bending — steel wastage from off-cuts and rework from out-of-tolerance rings — drop to almost nothing.
Our CNC stirrup bending machines
| Machine | Bar range | Wire count | Output | Indicative price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GTD4-10S | 4–10 mm TMT | Single | 2,000 pcs/hr | Rs 14,00,000 – Rs 15,40,000 |
| GTD5-12D | 4–12 mm TMT | Double | 2,400 pcs/hr | Rs 34,00,000 – Rs 37,40,000 |
The step between them is not size — it is wire count. The GTD5-12D bends two wires at once, so on the 8 mm and 10 mm stirrups that dominate most bar schedules it roughly doubles throughput for the same floor space and the same single operator, and it extends single-wire capacity to 12 mm. Both machines need a stable three-phase supply; the GTD4-10S draws around 4.5 KW average against 20 KW rated. Full pricing context, including what the machine replaces in gang cost, is in our bar bending machine price guide.
Which machine for which operation
| Your operation | Right machine |
|---|---|
| A few hundred stirrups a week, one small site | Manual bender — keep your capital |
| Thousands a week, bars up to 10 mm | GTD4-10S single wire |
| High-volume 8–10 mm stirrups, precast or RMC supply | GTD5-12D double wire |
| Stirrups plus 12 mm single-wire work | GTD5-12D |
If your work is broader than stirrups — column and beam bars, larger diameters, site bending — start from the full bar bending machine range instead and treat the stirrup machine as the second purchase.
Why buy your stirrup bending machine from Topall Impex
We are the exclusive India partner of the factories that build these machines — nothing sits between the factory and your yard, machines and spares are stocked in India, and we have supplied contractors nationwide from Delhi since 2008. Installation and operator training come with the machine, because a CNC bender set up wrong produces scrap fast. And before any of that, tell us your bar schedule: if a manual bender or a smaller machine covers your volume, we will say so. How to vet us — or anyone else — is in our guide to bar bending machine manufacturers in India. Send us your stirrup sizes and monthly volume for a same-day quotation.
Stirrup bending machine FAQs
What is the price of an automatic stirrup bending machine in India?
Rs 14 lakh to Rs 37.4 lakh ex-works Delhi — Rs 14,00,000–15,40,000 for the single-wire GTD4-10S and Rs 34,00,000–37,40,000 for the double-wire GTD5-12D. Freight and GST are extra.
How many stirrups can an automatic machine bend per hour?
2,000 pieces per hour on the GTD4-10S and up to 2,400 on the GTD5-12D, with one operator and length tolerance held to ±1 mm.
What bar sizes do stirrup bending machines handle?
4–10 mm TMT on the GTD4-10S and 4–12 mm on the GTD5-12D (double wire up to 10 mm). Check the minimum as carefully as the maximum — small-diameter ties are common in slab work.
Is a stirrup making machine the same as a stirrup bending machine?
Yes — stirrup making machine, ring making machine and stirrup bender are market names for the same machine. What matters is the class: manual assist versus CNC automatic.
