The FPC90 is the lighter of our two forward plate compactors and the one most contractors keep on site as a general-purpose machine. At 90 kg with a 520 x 485 mm plate it is manageable for two people to load, yet it delivers 15 KN of centrifugal force and a 300 mm depth effect, which covers the great majority of trench and patch work.
It can be supplied engine driven or motor driven on the same 5 HP rating, so the choice depends on whether the site has power rather than on buying a different machine. A 7 mm plate handles the abrasion of granular fill and paver bases.

The FPC90 carries 15 KN against the SG 120D's 50 KN, and weighs 90 kg against 150 kg. Both reach the same 300 mm depth effect, so the choice is not about how deep you can compact — it is about how much ground you cover and how easily the machine gets to the work.
At 90 kg two people can lift the FPC90 into a trench, and on most sites that single fact decides whether a compactor gets used at all or whether someone reaches for a hand tamper. For trench backfill, kerb surrounds and patch repairs, this is the machine.
The 7 mm base plate is sized for the duty. On abrasive granular fill a plate wears from underneath, and the heavier 10 mm plate on the SG 120D will simply last longer on that material. If your work is mostly sand, soil and paver bedding, 7 mm is the right economy.
Supplied engine driven or motor driven at 5 HP either way. Choose the electric motor for basements, warehouses and any enclosed space — petrol exhaust in a confined area is a real safety problem, not a preference. Choose the engine wherever there is no reliable supply.
