The FVR 650D is the compact double-drum roller in the FVR range: two 426 × 650 mm vibrating drums, 25 kN centrifugal force, a 6 HP engine with electric start, hydraulic drive and 530 kg operating weight. It vibrates at 70 Hz, works at 0 to 4 km/h and climbs a 30 per cent grade. Asphalt patching crews and footpath contractors ask for it because it puts the widest walk-behind drum in the range on the surface inside the shortest package — 1070 mm long — so it turns where the FVR 600 has to shunt.

At 530 kg it moves on the same small tipper as the FVR 600 and fits through the same gates, and the 35 litre water tank and 4.0 litre fuel tank are sized for a longer run between stops than the entry 600S manages.

Topall Impex supplies it from Delhi with spares held in stock and commissioning at your site.

FVR 650D or FVR 600

From the 650D side, the FVR 600 is the other double-drum walk-behind, and the numbers separate them cleanly. The 600 carries 30 kN and 10 HP on 430 × 600 mm drums at 550 kg; the 650D carries 25 kN and 6 HP on 426 × 650 mm drums at 530 kg in a package 300 mm shorter. So the 600 is the machine for soil, granular base and trench lines where force does the work, and the 650D is the machine for asphalt paths, parking bays and patch repair where a wider drum, a tighter turning length and a smooth reverse matter more than the last five kilonewtons. Below both sits the 280 kg single-drum FVR 600S at 15 kN; above them the ride-on FVR 850 and 50 kN FVR 1200 for open yards and base course.

Why two drums on asphalt

On a fresh mat the front drum compacts and the rear drum irons out what the front one moved. That second action is what a single drum cannot do, and it is the difference between a patch that blends into the road and one that shows a ridge at every pass line. Two 650 mm drums also share the 530 kg across twice the contact width, so the 650D compacts without pushing a wave of material ahead of it. Hydraulic drive reverses smoothly under load, and on a hot mat that is what keeps the pass line from showing.
