Bar bending machine price in India spans a wide range. A basic manual or motorised bar bender sits under Rs 1 lakh. A semi-automatic stirrup bender runs a few lakh. A fully automatic CNC stirrup bending machine costs about Rs 14 lakh to Rs 37.4 lakh depending on wire diameter capacity and whether it bends single or double wire.
Why bar bending machine prices vary so much
The phrase "bar bending machine" covers three completely different machines. Comparing their prices without saying which one you mean is how contractors end up disappointed.
Manual and motorised bar benders. One operator, one bar at a time, angle set by a stop. Cheap to buy, cheap to run, slow. Fine for a small site or a repair contractor.
Semi-automatic stirrup benders. Feed is assisted, angles are repeatable, but a person still handles each piece. Middle of the range on both price and output.
CNC automatic stirrup bending machines. Steel goes in from a coil or bundle, finished stirrups come out to a programmed drawing. This is where the price jumps and where the economics change completely.
CNC stirrup bending machine price in India
| Machine | Single wire | Double wire | Output | Indicative price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GTD4-10S automatic stirrup bender | 4 – 10 mm TMT | — | 2,000 pcs/hr | Rs 14,00,000 – Rs 15,40,000 |
| GTD5-12D automatic stirrup bender | 4 – 12 mm TMT | 4 – 10 mm TMT | 2,400 pcs/hr | Rs 34,00,000 – Rs 37,40,000 |
The gap between the two is not a size upgrade. The GTD5-12D bends two wires at once and handles 12 mm single wire. If your bar schedule is mostly 8 mm and 10 mm stirrups in high volume, double-wire capability roughly doubles throughput for the same floor space and one operator.
The number that actually matters: cost per stirrup
A machine at Rs 14 lakh looks expensive next to a Rs 80,000 bender. Then you count.
A CNC machine producing 2,000 stirrups an hour with one operator replaces a bending gang. It also removes the two costs nobody puts in the quote:
- Steel wastage. Hand bending to a drawing produces off-cuts and rejects. A programmed machine cuts to length from the schedule. On a large job the steel saved is a real number.
- Rework. Stirrups outside tolerance get rejected at inspection. A machine holding plus or minus 1 mm length tolerance does not generate that argument.
Work out your monthly stirrup requirement, your current gang cost, and your wastage percentage. If you are producing in the tens of thousands of pieces a month, the payback period on a CNC machine is usually measured in months, not years.
What to check before you buy
Bar diameter range, both ends
Everyone checks the maximum. Check the minimum too. A machine rated 6 to 12 mm will not handle 4 mm cleanly, and small-diameter stirrups are common in slab and column ties.
Bending angle tolerance
Ask for the published figure. Plus or minus 1 degree is a real specification. "Accurate" is not.
Power supply
CNC stirrup machines need a stable three-phase supply. A GTD4-10S draws around 4.5 KW average with 20 KW rated total power. Check what your yard can actually deliver before the machine arrives.
Who commissions it
A CNC bender set up wrong produces scrap fast. Installation and operator training should be part of the supply, not an extra.
Manual versus automatic: a straight answer
If you bend a few hundred stirrups a week, buy a manual bender. The CNC machine will sit idle and the capital is better spent elsewhere.
If you bend thousands a week, run more than one site, or you are supplying a precast or RMC operation, the CNC machine is not a luxury. It is the only way to hold schedule and tolerance without a large, skilled, expensive gang.
