When buying construction equipment outside Delhi, three things decide whether the purchase works: whether the machine is commissioned on your site or dropped at the gate, whether spares are held in India, and who physically attends when the machine stops. Price differences between suppliers are usually smaller than the cost of getting these wrong.
The questions that actually matter
Equipment specifications in this category are broadly comparable. Two suppliers quoting the same class of vibratory roller are quoting similar machines. What differs is what happens after the invoice.
Is it commissioned, or delivered?
A machine dropped at your gate is a risk. Rollers need drum and hydraulic checks, stirrup benders need programming and calibration, levelling machines need the laser and receivers set correctly. Ask specifically whether commissioning and operator training are included.
Where are the spares?
Ask where the part comes from when something wears. If the answer involves an overseas order, budget for the downtime. Spares held in India change the arithmetic completely.
Who attends when it stops?
Get a straight answer on response and who physically comes. This matters more the further you are from the supplier’s base.
What we do outside Delhi
Head office is in Delhi with distribution through Mumbai (Bhiwandi), Ahmedabad (Bakrol), Hyderabad (Dhollapally) and Chennai (Numbal). Machines are commissioned on site and the operator is trained before we leave, wherever the site is.
Spares are held in Delhi rather than ordered when something breaks. On the machines we supply that is the difference between a day and a month.
Machines commonly bought city to city
Mumbai and Bhiwandi belt
Warehouse and industrial flooring dominates. Laser guided levelling machines and ride-on power trowels, driven by distribution and cold storage construction.
Ahmedabad and Gujarat
Strong mix of rebar processing and road work. CNC stirrup bending machines for precast and RMC operations, vibratory rollers for infrastructure contracts.
Hyderabad
Infrastructure and commercial building. Compaction equipment and bar bending machines in roughly equal measure.
Chennai
Industrial flooring and road work, with steady demand for compaction equipment on municipal contracts.
Before you place the order
- Confirm what is included: commissioning, operator training, and any accessories such as sprinkler kits or float pans
- Confirm the published specifications are the manufacturer’s figures
- Confirm where spares are held and the typical availability
- Confirm delivery timing against your site programme, not a general lead time
- Confirm who to call when the machine stops, and whether they attend site
A note on price comparison
If one quote is significantly lower, find out what has been removed. Usually it is commissioning, an accessory that turns out to be essential, or a machine one size down from what the job needs.
Comparing quotes only works when the scope is the same. Ask for the inclusions in writing and compare those before comparing the numbers.
