The GT4-12 is a decoiling machine for 6 to 10 mm rebar coil. A 7.5 kW motor pays bar out under control at 30 to 40 metres a minute and feeds it to whatever comes next — an automatic stirrup bender or a straightening machine. It weighs 245 kg and takes 15 to 20 kg of oil. Without one, a coil of steel released on the ground springs open, kinks and has to be fought into the line; with one, the bar arrives straight off the reel at the speed the line asks for.
It is bought alongside a GTD4-10S automatic stirrup bending machine, whose 4 to 8 mm single-wire range sits inside the GT4-12's capacity, and by yards feeding a GX6-14 straightener with 8 and 10 mm coil. It is the smaller of our two decoilers and covers the bar sizes that make up most stirrup and slab tonnage.

The GT4-12 takes 6 to 10 mm at 30 to 40 m/min on 7.5 kW and weighs 245 kg; the GT4-14 takes 4 to 12 mm at 30 to 50 m/min on 9 kW and weighs 500 kg. From the GT4-12's side, choose it when your coil sizes are 6, 8 and 10 mm — which is the usual case for stirrup production — and you have no need for 4 mm or 12 mm. If the line it feeds is a GTD5-12D running 12 mm single wire, or if you handle 4 mm wire, the GT4-14 is the one.
Either decoiler ahead of an automatic stirrup bender is what keeps the machine running at its rated 2,000 or 2,400 pieces an hour; the bender can only bend as fast as it is fed.
The feed speed range covers a straightener drawing steadily at 30 m/min and an automatic bender pulling in bursts. The decoiler's job is to match that demand without letting the coil overrun and tangle, which is what the controlled payout is for. Load coils with the tail secured and release it only once the lead end is in the line.
Place the decoiler in line with the machine it feeds, with enough distance for the bar to settle before the infeed. The 7.5 kW motor runs on the yard's three-phase supply, and the 15 to 20 kg oil fill is checked at commissioning.
